Crianlarich and Tyndrum are two small villages 5 miles apart at the North Western tip of both Perthshire (rural Stirling) and the National Park. Outdoor activities are in abundance, hill walking probably being the most popular. The village of Crianlarich lies at the foot of Stobinian and the Ben More (the highest hill in the area) Ben Lui, Ben Oss and Ben Dorain are nearer to Tyndrum; all these hills are over 1,000 metres high, fantastic for walking. The notorious and world wide acclaimed West Highland Way passes through our area, a 95 mile hike from Milngavie (near Glasgow) to Fort William. Sections of the walk can easily be done in a day, i.e. Crianlarich to Tyndrum, Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy or if your quite keen, Crianlarich to Inverarnan or even Crianlarich through to Bridge of Orchy. Or you may be a fisherman or prefer a round of golf. It's all pretty close at hand. |
| Fishing There are a number of good fishing spots. Loch Nabee at Tyndrum (west side), The River Fillan from Tyndrum through Crianlarich to Loch Dochart, Loch Lubhair and River Dochart through Killin to Loch Tay. Permits are required to fish in all areas. Golf |
